JEE Main mock test pattern
Every JEE Main mock on Coachingle follows the 2026 NTA pattern: 75 questions across Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics — 25 per subject. Each section has 20 MCQs and 5 numerical value questions.
Negative marking is applied at -1 for wrong MCQs and 0 for wrong numerical (as per 2024+ NTA rules). Total time is 3 hours. Marking scheme: +4 correct, -1 wrong MCQ, +4 correct numerical (no negative).
Subject-wise mock options
Pick full-length mocks (all three subjects) or sectional mocks (Physics-only, Chemistry-only, Maths-only) for targeted practice. Sectional mocks are 25 questions in 1 hour — ideal for daily revision.
JEE Advanced mocks are available separately with the Paper 1 + Paper 2 format: 54 questions, 3 hours per paper, with the distinct numerical-integer + match-the-columns + multi-correct question types.
- JEE Main Prelims full-length (75 Q, 3h)
- JEE Advanced Paper 1 (54 Q, 3h)
- JEE Advanced Paper 2 (54 Q, 3h)
- Physics-only sectional (25 Q, 1h)
- Chemistry-only sectional (25 Q, 1h)
- Mathematics-only sectional (25 Q, 1h)
How JEE aspirants use this
Start daily sectional mocks (1 hour each) 4 months before JEE Main. In the final 8 weeks, switch to 2 full-length mocks per week. Review each mock for 60-90 minutes — understanding why you got questions wrong matters more than how many you got right.
Our mock analyzer flags specific chapters where you are losing marks and generates a spaced-repetition cheatsheet for those chapters. The system adapts — if you keep missing rotational mechanics questions, upcoming mocks will oversample from that topic until your accuracy crosses 75%.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are the JEE mock tests really free?
Yes. Free-tier students get 10 full mock attempts per day. There is no signup required to try one. Paid plans unlock unlimited attempts and detailed per-question AI explanations.
Are the questions AI-generated or from past papers?
Both. Half the questions in each mock are AI-generated to match the current NTA pattern and difficulty level. The other half are curated from 10 years of previous year JEE Main/Advanced papers, categorized by topic and difficulty. This mix gives you fresh practice without surprises.
Does the mock match the real JEE Main pattern?
Yes, exactly. 75 questions split 25/25/25 across Physics, Chemistry, Maths. 20 MCQs + 5 numericals per subject. 3-hour total time. Negative marking at -1 for MCQ, 0 for numerical. These match the 2024+ NTA pattern which is current for 2026.
How is JEE Advanced different?
JEE Advanced has two papers (Paper 1 + Paper 2), each 3 hours and 54 questions. Question types are more varied: single-correct MCQs, multi-correct MCQs, numerical integer type, and match-the-columns. Marking scheme has partial credit. Select "JEE Advanced" mode when starting a mock to practice this pattern.
Can I pause a mock test and resume later?
No — mocks are single-session to simulate real exam conditions. If you need a break-friendly option, use sectional mocks (1 hour each) or the Speed Drill tool for topic-specific practice.
What does the post-mock analysis show?
Subject-wise accuracy (e.g., "Physics: 72%, Chem: 68%, Maths: 58%"), topic-wise breakdown with your strongest and weakest chapters ranked, time-per-question patterns, and an AI-generated 14-day study plan targeting your specific weak areas.
